Multi-Chem

Multi-Chem, with its corporate headquarters in San Angelo and with more than 750 customers worldwide, is the fourth largest and fastest-growing company in the production chemicals industry. Today the company has 650 employees, operating out of 58 facilities, with five blending plants, and servicing oil and gas producers in the U.S., Canada, UK, France, Netherlands, Indonesia, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, and Trinidad Tobago, and pursuing many opportunities elsewhere.

Multi-Chem provides on-demand local service and unparalleled technical expertise in production chemicals. They customize solutions onsite for oilfield products, gas well treatments and pipelines. Their success stems from the recognition that they provide customers with superior local service. Multi-Chem’s values-based approach to people and customer satisfaction, and their firm commitment to the environment, make them the supplier-of-choice everywhere they operate.  They support the global energy industry with a firm understanding that success is achieved by exceeding expectations with their partners, in their communities and in collaboration with their employees.

The company was founded by James and Lois Archer in Midland, Texas in September 1993. From its early beginnings, James was determined to provide a level of service to their customer that was unparalleled in the industry.

In 1995, James decided to move the company to Sonora, Texas to better service the local producers. James ability to exceed its customers’ expectations allowed him to pursue opportunities in other markets in Texas and Oklahoma. By 2000, the company had operations in 12 different markets with a blending plant in Sonora.

The corporate headquarters of Multi-Chem came to San Angelo in 2004, in order to be able to develop a corporate office capable of supporting a larger and growing operation.  The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Division and the City of San Angelo Development Corporation teamed up to provide an assistance package to entice them to come to San Angelo. In addition, the Chamber assisted Multi-Chem in connecting with the West Texas Training Center and the local Workforce Solutions office to help hire and train the many positions needed to continue to grow the business.

Currently Multi-Chem purchased and is renovating a large space in the Sunset Crossing Shopping Center. This new space should allow Multi-Chem the space it needs to continue growing the company worldwide.
