Red Wheel Fundraising of West Texas

Mary Coffey loves to help others. “I was approached by a school that didn’t have a single book in their library because the construction budget ran out,” said Coffey. “We raised $11,000 and filled library. That is why I am in this business. Helping others truly brings me a satisfaction I never dreamed I could have from my career.”

Mary received the opportunity to start her own business by purchasing an existing franchise in San Angelo. Red Wheel Fundraising already had a strong presence in the area and a significant customer base. The name of the franchise was well established with many local schools and other organizations.

“I researched Red Wheel Fundraising and was drawn to the idea of being in control of my career and away from a desk,” she explained. “But more than anything, I wanted to turn my passion for fundraising into my livelihood and earn substantial income for my family. It just made perfect sense for me to take this chance and go for it.”

The Red Wheel Fundraising team in San Angelo consists of Bill and Mary Coffey, both of whom possess accounting degrees, and Chad and Teena Roberts-Buie, who also possess degrees in business. “Chad’s business sense and work ethic coupled with his common sense approach to everything makes him invaluable to Red Wheel and to me. The more we work together, the more respect I have for him,” states Mary.

Mary traveled to the company’s headquarters to tour the factory and observe food production first-hand. She also shadowed existing franchise owners for training and guidance. Today, she is watching her business grow. Mary now has a business partner, Chad Buie, to assist with the expansion of her customer base. She relocated her home-based franchise to a new office building with additional freezer space for storing product.

JMary is enjoying the freedom that comes will each new day while realizing service mentality is crucial to her success. “As an accountant, I have always been concerned with dollars and cents. But now I have found great satisfaction working with different groups and helping them succeed in reaching their financial goals, as well as my own. I absolutely love knowing that we had a hand in helping a small rural high school band make enough money to go play in a bowl game or an elementary school get new computers or playground equipment.”
